Microdermabrasion Leamington

Microdermabrasion Leamington - The condition of Dermatitis Herpetiformis is a chronic skin condition characterized by blisters filled with a watery fluid. It is likewise known as DH or Duhring's Disease. The name implies the meaning in that it is a skin disease that has the specific appearance similar to herpes, though, the condition is not related to or caused by the herpes virus. DH was initially described during the year 1884 by Dr. Louis Duhring, hence the name. In the year 1867, a correlation between gluten intolerance or celiac disease and DH was recognized. In nearly all of cases, the age of onset is typically 15 to 40 years, even though, DH can also have an effect on kids as well as the elderly. Men and women are also affected. The prevalence of DH varies from 1 in 400 to 1 in 10,000.

DH has a characteristic rash that contains chronic papulovesicular eruptions and is intensely itchy. Normally, this rash is distributed symmetrically on extensor surfaces such as the knees, elbows, back, back of neck and buttocks. The blisters could vary from being up to 1 cm across to really small. Since this particular condition is very itch intensive, the desire to scratch can be overwhelming. This could cause the person to actually scratch blisters off before they could be checked by a doctor of medicine. Intense burning sensations or intense itching are sometimes felt prior to blisters appearing in a particular area.

If left untreated, the severity of DH can significantly vary in time. Normally, the symptoms firstly appear in the early years of adulthood, normally between 20 and 30 years old. The first obvious signs are the tiny vesicles or papules which resemble bumps or blisters. The first signs are intensive itching and burning. Normally, the first blisters appear on the lower end of the spinal column, on the shoulders, along the hairline and at times within the mouth. Rarely, does the rash happen on various mucous membranes other than the mouth or the lips. If gluten ingestion is avoided and the correct treatment is administered, the indications usually disappear. In some cases, taking oral contraceptives may exacerbate the indications.

The signs of dermatitis herpetiformis are chronic. Generally, the indications tend to come and go, normally in short periods of time. These symptoms can be accompanied by fatigue and abdominal pain and some symptoms of celiac disease.

The DH rash usually forms and disappears in 3 stages. The patient will firstly see a slight discoloration of the skin where the lesions appear. The next stage would be the lesions transforming into groups of noticeable papules and vesicles. The healing stage of the lesions is the final stage of development. Usually this set of signs is characterized by a skin color change. This could result in parts of the skin turning lighter or darker than the color of the skin somewhere else on the body. Due to the intense itching, people generally scratch which could result in the formation of crusts.
